FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT THE SELLING PROCESS:

Systems of registering your items open September 1.

Like most other ski swaps in the area, we offer a mark-your-equipment-at-home-and-bring-it-in system. Add to our inventory of skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, winter gear, hats, gloves, base layers, winter clothing, and more!

Register your items to sell at home, and then print your tags at your leisure to be attached before drop-off (support with tagging is available upon drop-off, as needed).  We charge a $2 fee per item checked in (up to 10 items, over 10 no additional fee). After the sale, we will send you 77% of all your sold items! The remaining 23% supports Team Afton Alpine Race Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supporting youth ski racing.

FAQ

ABOUT THE SWAP

Does the SWAP only have used items?

Both new and used ski and snowboard equipment, accessories, winter apparel, outerwear, and more, is available for adults and children at the swap. We organize items by sorting consignment and new items from vendors into different areas to help support shoppers find their best picks. Our volunteer staff is additionally made up of a number of ski & ride experts ready to assist you in finding your perfect set-up for your needs!

Sellers have the option to discount their items on Sunday! You could save up to an additional 50% off!

Do I have to sell something to come to the SWAP?

Definitely not! Whether you are a ski & ride veteran, or new to the sport, this is a great place to get your equipment, or even just some new outdoor apparel! No need to register equipment to sell in order to shop. All are welcome!

What brands will you have?

Our inventory based on registered items each year. The brands are really too numerous to list, but in the past have included: Atomic, Rossignol, Fischer, K2, Head, Nordica, Dynastar, Blizzard, Elan, Hart, Kastle, Salomon, Volkl, Lange, Tecnica, Tyrolia, Marker, Look, Burton, Ride, Lib Tech, Gnu, CAPiTA, Forum, DC, Rome, Columbia, Patagonia, Spyder, Marmot, Descente, The North Face, Mountain Hardware, Oakley, Burton, Merrell, and Marker... just to name a few.

Who sells items at the sale?

Both individuals and vendors sell equipment at the sale. Individuals most often sell on consignment lightly used, outgrown or no longer needed ski and snowboard equipment. Our vendors include several leading retail ski and snowboard shops and dealerships, who are selling new or gently used items at incredible discounts.

Some of our dealers have historically included:

Hoigaard’s | Wayne's | Fitzharris | Hi Tempo | Pierce Skate & Ski

Does equipment for sale have to meet certain standards?

Yes. Equipment must meet minimum acceptable standards set by the Team Afton SWAP Committee.  In short, very old skis are not likely to have the bindings indemnified.  Manufacturers will not stand behind non-indemnified bindings and ski shops will probably refuse to work on them.  There is a partial list here of indemnified (seen to be acceptable) bindings.

Equipment found to be damaged or in bad repair may be removed from the sale. Clothing must be clean and in good condition. We reserve the right to reject any unsafe, broken or outdated items.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash and all major credit cards. Please, no personal checks.
